Special functions of the RockBox:

Distance to the starting line, count down timer, data logging, display backlight, and more.

Use the remote control to navigate through the menu system, choose the function you want, and GO!

Info screen

  • View your current:
    • Latitude/Longitude
    • Distance travelled
    • Max speed over 20 seconds
    • Max speed

Count down timer

  • Preset for countdown times of 15, 10, and 5 minutes for quick set up
  • Has the option to add or subract from the time remaining
    • If the timer was started on the wrong signal, simply use the remote to add or subract minutes without having to restart the timer
  • Automatically returns to the last function used after the start
    • No need to manually change to the function you want for the first leg while you're settling into a groove after the start

Backlight

  • Set the backlight to Hi at dusk for maximum visibility, Lo at night to clearly see the display without disturbing your night vision, and OFF during the day
    • The use of high efficiency LED lighting minimizes the reduction of battery life

Data logging

  • Time, Date, Latitude, Longitude, Heading, Speed, and VMG are saved into non-volatile memory for downloading and analysis
    • Connect the RockBox to your PC via the built in USB port and use the included RockBox Commander software to get your log files
  • Data is saved in two formats:
    • GPX file, for import into viewing software like GPS action replay or Google Earth
    • Comma separated text file, for importing into a spreadsheet for analysis
  • Save from 1.7 to 453 hours of data, depending on the selected rate

maxVMG

  • Enter the wind direction and sweep through a range of heading to see which will maximize your VMG

Autochange Function

  • Enter the wind direction and this function will automatically switch between two functions for upwind and down
    • Perfect for racing on boats like 1 man skiffs, where you do not have an extra hand available for even using the remote control

AutoWind Heading

  • Sail two close hauled tacks and the RockBox will automatically determine the wind direction.
    • No more heading to wind and bobbing around to see the wind direction!
    • Displays the wind direction on top and your current heading on the bottom
